The worlds of IT and Audit intersect in many ways, but very few people understand both sides of the equation. IT as a function works hard to invent terminology that keeps up the mystique, and joint working can often be very difficult.
The ERP system is often at the center of this struggle. It is generally the key business information repository, and certainly the driver behind most business processes in an enterprise. But very few people in the organization truly understand a complex system with 30,000 programs and files.
What we all need to remember when trying to solve this conundrum is that we have common goals, most of the time. The bywords we need to work with are Controls and Efficiency.
This session will explain some simple methods by which Auditors can enable IT to work better towards these joint goals
